My super 8mm film was from the 60s & 70's. At first I had trouble with the film jumping as it was processing over to digital. The fix for me was to make sure the film was treaded properly. Mak sure the switch is set correctly for your film, 8mm vs Super 8mm, then when you thread the film into the projector lens area there are 3 small tabs the film must be under. One is a small white tab where the films small holes are located. And there are 2 black tabs on the witch side the film needs to be under. After i fed it like this it works really good. The direction don't tell you this part. See photo of tabsThis product is working well, it is very quiet and works as described. I would havegiven it a 5 star but when I unpacked it, the rewind reel was warped, and the filmwould not wind on it without help from me. The rewind reel was packed very wellso I don't know why it was warped. The unit will not hold the frame steady. As it advances, the frame does not consistently align to the same place, thus causing the picture to jump erratically. Also, the directions are incorrect, both printed on the machine as well as in the book. It tells you to put the film under the 2 white tabs. There are NO white tabs. There are THREE grey tabs that the film must go under. If you only find 2 (as the directions imply) it won't work at all. My film was pristine without issues on the sprocket hole, and no splices. I would get better results from projecting on the wall and filming with a camcorder. After a few minutes of learning...very easy to use...set it and forget it....nice to see what is on 80 year pld moviesHonestly, you are better off setting up a tripod with your smart phone and recording the 8 mm film from the wall. For the price you would think that the quality of product would be a lot better meaning the digitized film is not as good as you would expect, considering how technology has been advancing over the years. So rent an 8 mm projector set up your film set up your iPad pad or iPhone with a tripod and record it that way. You will enjoy it better in the long run because you’ll also hear the sound that the 8 mm film maker projector makes and the quality would be just as good if not better than the other option.I have saved several super-8 films with this scanner. The price is relatively inexpensive, but the digitizer induces a lot of noise of its own. This is very apparent when recording the same frame over and over again. There should be little difference between captures of the very same frame, but there is. It looks like additional film grain, but is the digitizer itself. I have tried playing with the brightness and sharpness settings to no avail.Easy to use nice and lightweight, I'm going to enjoy this product thank you.El equipo no cumple con el propósito, el resultado no es bueno, el hecho de que no se pueda regular el enfoque conspira para tener un buen resultado, las imágenes nunca son nítidas, es una pena
