This is a great Gate especially for top of stair areas to keep pets at bay- I replaced a baby gate that I had in the stair way because it was not as secure as this one. This gate is secured right into the walls so I don't have to worry about taking it down and then putting it back every time I want to walk through or worry about it accidentally falling over. The almost opalescent sheen to the gate material allows lots of light through but still maintains the privacy for curious puppies. It was relatively easy to assemble, it is a bit of a struggle to open and close, but I have it in an area with very little traffic, and use it as a safety barrier on the stairway.
