I ordered this gate for my in-laws, who have a larger older dog, that is starting to make messes in the house when they are not there. They needed a way to keep him on their hard surface flooring while they are away for periods of time. They also wanted the height because they were afraid if they got something too low that he would peek his head over the mesh and it would eventually wear out or he would hurt his face or neck. This ended up working out great and is exactly what they had in mind.This is a 4 foot high gate. Let that sink in before you order it. Ha! When it was delivered to my house I thought oh no...this thing is huge! It really is but worked for where we needed it. This gate is white, with white mesh, so blends in with my in-laws house and does not stick out like a sore thumb. It does stick out from the wall a bit but where it is in their house it doesn't really matter. I installed this for them and it took me maybe 30 minutes from start to finish and was very easy. All of the instructions are easy to read and everything you will need for installation is included in the box. My in-laws are getting older so this was a huge plus that the latches were super easy to use. Once the end and hooks are installed, you literally pull it across, hook it on the hooks, and you are done. Retracting it is just as easy. Unhook the mesh and roll it back. Be sure to hold on to the mesh as it's retracting just to keep it rolling onto the rod evenly.This has been a huge lifesaver for them and helped out tremendously with their dog. Their dog is older so is not a jumper. I'm not sure how this would work with a younger dog that jumps and scratches on the mesh. I can see it getting damaged easily. This was a great purchase and we are very happy with it.
