This is a custom built retractable needle features a solid core "needle" that retracts into a spring-loaded cavity hidden inside the barrel of the syringe unit. The spring-loaded mechanism glides smoothly to produce a stunningly realistic visual effect when the needle is "inserted" or "removed" from the actor.
