This was purchased as a passive barrier to close off an area. We spent a little more money (almost double) from the other brands for the main reason that the enclosure helped to dress up the wall mounted unit. I don't have the less expensive model to compare but I am hoping for durability and longevity. There are three screws that mount the unit and the top/bottom covers come off for mounting. The unit DID come with the hook-on receiver plate, which is metal and narrow and that uses two mounting screws (has a slight metal protrusion at the bottom of the mount to prevent the hook from falling through).My concern here was the durability since there are children who may accidentally "play" and unhook the unit. This has happened several times already it it didn't seem to damage anything. I didn't want it to snap back but the return is quite quick. Thus, this is not a slow return.Overall this is a good buy and planning to purchase additional units.
